Smartphones are getting bigger, but sometimes it can be difficult to use these larger devices with just one hand. The OnePlus 13, known for its impressive screen size and performance, is no exception.
Fortunately, OnePlus offers a solution with its One-Handed Mode, allowing you to navigate your phone more easily and comfortably with a single hand. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to enable and customize One-Handed Mode on your OnePlus 13.
One-Handed Mode is a built-in feature that adjusts the display size to make it more manageable for users to interact with the screen using only one hand. It shrinks the screen, moving everything toward the bottom so that you can reach all the important elements without straining your thumb.
This feature is especially useful for those who prefer larger screens but don’t always have the luxury of using two hands.

Enable One Handed Mode On OnePlus 13
To be able to use one-handed mode, you’ll need to be using navigation gestures. This mode will not work for navigation buttons.
To do this, launch the Settings app, scroll down and select System & Updates. Here, tap on System Navigation, which is usually set to Buttons by default.
Under System Navigation, you will see the two options, Gestures and Buttons. Select Gestures to use swipe-based navigation. For example, swipe up to go home, swipe from the sides to go back, and swipe up and hold for recent apps.
Go back to the Settings menu, scroll down and select Accessibility & Convenience. Here, select the One-Handed Mode option.
Toggle the One-Handed Mode switch to turn it on. Now you can proceed to use it.
While on the home screen or any app, swipe down at the bottom of your screen (one the gesture guide bar) to enter one-handed mode. The entire screen will shift downwards, bringing the top portion within your thumb’s reach, into a panel.
This feature is especially useful when you need to access the top of the screen while browsing or using apps. You can now easily tap on buttons, links, or icons in the top half of the screen without stretching or adjusting your grip.
To exit one-handed mode, simply tap on the blank area on top of the panel, swipe up from the bottom of the screen or tap on the upward-facing arrow in the middle of the screen. Your OnePlus 13 will return to its standard display mode.
Why Use One-Handed Mode?
One-Handed Mode is not just about convenience; it’s about enhancing productivity and accessibility. Here are a few reasons why you should enable it:
Larger Screen: Devices like the OnePlus 13 come with big, immersive displays, but they can sometimes be unwieldy. One-Handed Mode makes using these large screens much easier.
More Comfortable Use: If you’re in a situation where you need to use your phone with one hand—like holding onto something with the other—One-Handed Mode makes it possible.
Speed and Efficiency: Having the screen within easy reach allows you to interact with your phone more quickly and without the awkward stretching of your fingers.
