Having quick access to emergency contacts in today’s world can be a lifesaver. By default, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has emergency phone numbers, ensuring help is just a tap away.
This guide will walk you through the process to add a custom emergency phone number on your Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. This helps you to stay prepared in the event of an unforeseen circumstance.
Smartwatches are for more than fitness tracking and notifications these days; they are now essential tools for personal safety. By adding an emergency contact to your Galaxy Watch Ultra, you ensure that in a critical situation, you can quickly alert someone who can help. This feature is especially useful for those who engage in outdoor activities, live alone, or have health concerns.
Although the default emergency phone numbers for your region are okay to call, they may not be functional in all regions. As a result, you can set your own custom phone number, which can be your local police station, hospital, ambulance or a trusted contact who will always be available in the event of an emergency.

Add Custom Emergency Phone Number
Begin by swiping up from the bottom of your watch face of your Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. This action will open the App Drawer, displaying all the installed applications.
Scroll through the apps and find the Settings app. It is represented by two a gear (cog wheel) icon. Within the settings menu, scroll down until you find the section labeled Safety and Emergency. Tap on it to open.
Under the Safety and Emergency menu, locate the Emergency SOS option and select it.
Scroll down until you get to the option labelled Emergency Number to Call and tap on it.
It should be set to your region’s default emergency number, usually 999, 911 or 112.
Choose the Custom Number option to select who to call incase of an emergency. Once you select this option, the Galaxy Watch Ultra keyboard will pop up to allow you to enter the number.
After you enter the number, tap on the blue check mark to save it. This will now be the emergency contact to call in the event of an emergency.
It’s good practice to inform the contact you added as an emergency contact, so that they can know what to expect when they receive the call from you. This keeps them alert at all times. You can also practice triggering the emergency call, so that you can do it quickly if need be.
